Center for Neurology Full Time Day 8 Hour Shifts (7:30 am - 4:00 pm) 40 Req# 42129
Responsibilities Under general supervision performs routine awake and sleep EEGs.
Education High School Diploma
Successful completion of an accredited program in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology or equivalent or eligibility for completion of Part I (Written) examination for certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (ABRET).
Experience One or more years performing EEG testing. Experience in performing EMG testing is preferred.
Skills
Knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations.
Ability to obtain a quality, interpretable EEG recording.
Knowledge level of diseases to correlate patient history and clinical symptoms to determine maneuvers performed during EEG.
Knowledge in applying principles of electronics and mathematics to EEG recordings.
Licensures, Certifications
Certification by the American Board of Electroencephalographic Technologists preferred.
Satisfactory completion of "Healthcare Provider" CPR course annually.
Physical Requirements
Demonstrate manual dexterity, physical ability, and visual acuity to perform neurodiagnostic procedures and to observe patients during testing, usually involving standing (70%), lifting (20%), and reaching (10%).
Working Conditions
Subject to electrical and related hazards.
Ability to function in various hospital settings, recognizinginfection control methods and maintaining good working relationships with physicians and allied health personnel.
Conditions of Employment
Maintain Certification by the American Board of Electroencephalographic Technologists.
Maintain current "Healthcare Provider" CPR certification.
