We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Project-Based Construction Safety Professional to oversee and implement all safety-related activities for specific construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and company safety regulations while fostering a culture of safety among all personnel on site. This role requires hands-on involvement and the ability to adapt safety programs to the specific needs of each project. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and enforce project-specific safety programs, policies, and procedures. Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions for project personnel, subcontractors, and vendors. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; document findings, recommend corrective actions, and ensure follow-up. Collaborate with project management to integrate safety planning into project schedules and workflows. Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety protocols. Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation, reports, and OSHA logs. Ensure emergency response plans are in place and understood by all personnel. Act as the primary safety contact on the project site, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to supervisors and workers. Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety, with project-based experience strongly preferred. OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification required; CSP, CHST, or other safety certifications preferred. Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and other relevant regulations. Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and accident investigations. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Bilingual in Spanish and English. Ability to work in a dynamic construction environment and adapt to multiple projects. Physical Requirements
Ability to navigate active construction sites, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and working at heights. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and wearing required safety equipment.
