Youth Treatment Specialist - Jefferson County Youth Residential Program at Wisconsin Community Services, Inc. (WCS). Location: Watertown. Employment type: Full Time. This position operates within the Specialized Services Program at the Jefferson County Youth Crisis Stabilization Facility and involves serving male youth, ages 13-17, in a licensed residential care setting. Job Responsibilities

Serve as a treatment specialist in the milieu, coaching skill use throughout daily activities, modeling appropriate behavior, and reinforcing skills through a token economy system. Use evidence-based best practices for youth with mental health, substance use, and life needs, including the Integrated Treatment Model (ITM) with DBT, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, youth-centered and culturally reverent approaches. Encourage youth involved with external systems to participate in treatment programming and program activities. Co-facilitate Dialectical Behavior Therapy groups and other topics related to healthy relationships, independent living skills, substance use education, and cultural identity development. Organize, participate in, and monitor scheduled activities for youth (one-to-three) on-site and off-site, including clubs, school, arts, recreation, community outings, and field trips. Support youth education by serving as a learning coach in the classroom on-site and at school using an interactive, competency-based educational model. Provide active sight-and-sound supervision to youth and families with complex needs. Assess youth behavior for risk to self or others and communicate with supervisory/clinical staff as needed. Perform milieu management and coaching for youth experiencing emotional dysregulation or crisis, including one-on-one support as outlined in treatment plans. Respond calmly and de-escalate crises using trained and approved methods and techniques to maintain safety. Interact with youth professionally and therapeutically according to policy, procedure, training, and agency values. Collaborate with the team to maintain clear communication and ensure high-quality, seamless care. Observe and document youth participation in activities and interactions in an electronic database. Assist youth by transporting and attending medical appointments, court appearances, community appointments, and family visits. Perform building-related tasks as needed, assist with meal preparation, cleaning, and organization. Monitor and support youth in completing activities of daily living such as chores and health/hygiene standards. Maintain youth and family confidentiality in all written and verbal communications. Adhere to state licensing requirements and WCS policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Working knowledge of positive child/youth development; ability to interact with youth/parents calmly and professionally; ability to follow instructions; ability to respond appropriately in crisis; basic computer skills; effective time management and multi-tasking. Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Be at least 21 years old (at least 2 years older than the oldest resident). Flexible schedule with a rotation of first and second shifts including weekends. Working knowledge of computer applications preferred. Demonstrate cultural competence and respect for diverse backgrounds in interactions with youth and families. Knowledge and skills to work with youth ages 13-17. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance to meet agency requirements preferred. Meet all employee requirements including references, criminal background check, and driver’s license check. Work Environment & Schedule

State-licensed residential care center; work primarily in the building and in the community. Local travel as required; coverage may be needed. Ability to work with youth who have experienced trauma; ability to respond to crisis situations. Schedule: full-time or part-time; rotation of first (8:00 am – 4:00 pm) and second shifts (3:00 pm – 11:00 pm); weekend and holiday rotation with premium for holidays. Physical Demands

Duties require activity when supporting or interacting with youth; may require trained physical interventions if immediate harm occurs. Ability to lift 30 pounds; driving required. Equal Opportunity Employer
