General Summary
The Emergency Management and Business Continuity (EMBC) Coordinator leads local or regional efforts to ensure preparedness and resilience against operational disruptions and disasters. This role is responsible for supporting the implementation of emergency management and business continuity programs, collaborating with key stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with applicable regulatory requirements. The EMBC Coordinator plays a key role in sustaining operational continuity and supporting the organization's mission during emergencies. Education & Experience Required
Bachelor's degree or relevant combination of education and experience required; Master's degree preferred. One to three years of experience in emergency management or business continuity, or related field required. Prior experience in incident management or command center roles preferred. Strong preference for experience in healthcare emergency management, including collaboration with clinical teams and support of operational continuity strategies. Healthcare provider background (e.g., EMT, Paramedic, RN) preferred. Completion of FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) or within one year of hire. Completion of Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) or within one year of hire. Valid Michigan Driver's License required. This position covers multiple sites within the Metro Detroit area, including but not limited to:
Detroit Wyandotte
Occasional overnight travel may be necessary depending on site needs, emergency activation or project requirement. Certifications & Licenses Required
Professional certification preferred (e.g., Professional Emergency Manager [PEM], Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional [CHEP]). Additional Information
