Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (Reemployed Annuitant) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Border Patrol, with nationwide locations. Salary: $105,383.00/yr (GS-13, Step 1) to $137,000.00/yr (GS-13, Step 10), depending on locality pay or cost of living adjustments. There is no recruitment incentive associated with this job announcement. Duties

You live the mission every day and know what it takes to protect America\'s citizens, borders, and economic prosperity. As a retired Border Patrol Agent, you are being called back to the frontlines to protect American interests and secure the Nation. Protect the homeland by preventing illegal entry of aliens, enforcing Immigration and Nationality Laws, and apprehending smugglers or aliens in the United States illegally. Use your expertise to strengthen the Department\'s ability to protect the homeland. Typical assignments include detecting and questioning persons suspected of immigration or customs violations, inspecting documents, performing checks, patrolling borders and waterways using government assets, and preventing unlawful entry. Salary will be determined based on prior employment history. Reemployed annuitants may be eligible for a Salary Offset waiver and/or dual compensation considerations. Relocation, Locations and Schedule

Duty Locations: select first and second preferred US Border Patrol Sector locations (examples include Big Bend, El Paso, San Diego, Laredo, etc.). Shift Work/Overtime: regular and rotating shifts; overtime possible with up to 25% additional pay under the Border Patrol Agent Pay Reform Act of 2014. Travel: overnight travel may be required on a regular and recurring basis. Uniform/Grooming Standards: wear an officially approved uniform and comply with grooming standards; tattoos/brandings on head or face not permitted. Motor Vehicle Operation: must possess the ability to operate a Government Owned Vehicle and hold a valid driver\'s license. Requirements and Qualifications

Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply. Selective Service: Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service. Residency: Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years. Background: Must pass a background investigation; DHS Drug-Free Workplace procedures apply. Age: You must be under 60 to be considered. Firearms: Meet initial and continuing firearms qualifications; ineligibilities include certain criminal convictions, fames, or domestic violence misdemeanors. Medical: Must undergo medical screening after tentative job offer and be medically/physically able to perform essential duties. Language: Proficiency in Spanish (speak and read). General Qualifications: For GS-13, one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade is required, including immigration enforcement, intelligence gathering, and case work related to investigations. Education/Time in Grade: Meet all qualification requirements and Time in Grade requirements as applicable. This is a Non-Bargaining Unit position. This may be used to fill Supervisory and Non-Supervisory GS-1896-13 roles. A mandatory 18-month probationary period may apply for new supervisors. Leadership training (SLT/ASLT) is required within the first 90 days unless previously completed.
