Overview

The CHOICE Lab at Michigan Medicine is seeking an outgoing, energetic, empathic, and driven research associate to join a large randomized clinical trial of an incentive-based menthol cigarette smoking cessation intervention. The study aims to test ways to help people who smoke menthol cigarettes quit and to deliver real-world data comparing incentive-based interventions with, and in addition to, state-run Quitlines among menthol smokers. The successful candidate must be well read, organized, and able to multitask; be an independent thinker and team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. This role involves collaboration across team members and the ability to contribute to a variety of projects as needed. Engaging stakeholders (e.g., advisory boards, community representatives, healthcare decision-makers) to enhance awareness and dissemination of findings to support impact of the project’s outcomes. Conducting qualitative interviews with participants and stakeholders and analyzing interview data. Contributing to the design, execution, and outcome assessment of the research project, assisting with content development and incorporating stakeholder feedback into the overall design and implementation. Assisting with project timelines and milestones, collaborating across teams and helping out where needed. Assisting the Principal Investigators with research dissemination, organizing information, writing manuscripts, and presenting at conferences/webinars for results to inform practice or policy and support project sustainability and future implementation. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or related field with 1–3 years of related experience. Knowledge of the research process; empathetic and personable with excellent organizational and communication skills. Team-oriented with strong cross-team collaboration, and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently for extended periods while maintaining communication with the study coordinator and principal investigators. Flexibility and availability to work a varying schedule; willingness to help out where needed. Comfortable interacting with diverse populations and collaborating with community representatives. Work Schedule

Mon–Fri 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends if needed. Exact times vary by study phase and project needs, in consideration of employee preferences. Work Location & Modes

This is a hybrid position located in Ann Arbor, MI. Work will occur both remotely and in person and may require some travel within Michigan to meet with stakeholders and present on our work. Positions eligible for hybrid or remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually and may change. Background Screening & E‑Verify
