Responsibilities The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of South Alabama Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Neurosurgeon with a broad range of skills at the Assistant Professor level to join the faculty as a Neurosurgeon in Mobile, Alabama. Subspecialty in Neurocritical Care is preferred. The USA Health System includes the region's only medical school - the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine; a major tertiary hospital – USA Health University Hospital; a free-standing hospital dedicated specifically for the needs of women and children - USA Health Children's and Women's Hospital, and an interdisciplinary cancer research and treatment facility – USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute. Collectively, the system provides care for patients from southern Alabama, southeast Mississippi and northwest Florida. Some of the features of the USA Health System include the area's only Level I Trauma Center, an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Cyberknife radiosurgery, and the area's only children's hospital.
