Overview
MASTER PLUMBER position within the State of New Hampshire Department of Corrections, Division of Administration. Location: Concord, NH. Full-time employment with salary range noted below. First shift 06:30–14:30 with Fridays/Saturdays off. This is a hazardous-duty role with related benefits and qualifications as specified in the posting.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the activities of trades staff engaged in pipe cutting, preassembly, or installation of plumbing systems and related heating and cooling equipment (including boilers, pumps, cooling towers, steam traps).
Organize preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure reliability of facilities and equipment.
Inspect buildings and structures to assess material or equipment needs, plan pipe installations around obstructions (e.g., electrical wiring), and perform installations of pipes, drains, valves, sprinklers, and related fixtures.
Supervise and prioritize work orders, scheduling, and assignments for trades personnel (e.g., journeymen pipe fitters, steamfitters, helpers, laborers, mechanics) and track progress toward timely completion.
Assist facilities engineering as needed and support safety and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 7 years of education and experience after high school, in plumbing, heating technology, or related field.
License/Certification: NH Master Plumber license.
Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications Extensive knowledge of standard plumbing practices, tools, materials, and equipment; strong understanding of national and state plumbing codes; ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, plans, blueprints, and technical specifications; ability to test and detect faulty materials and equipment; ability to prepare and maintain accurate records; awareness of occupational hazards and safety standards; understanding of broader plumbing concepts for master plumbers.
After-hire Requirements Successful completion of the Corrections Academy within 12 months of hire and ongoing certification as correctional line personnel as required by the certifying authority.
