We use the power of media to raise awareness, build understanding of AI, create urgency, and encourage action among key decision-makers and their constituents. AI technologies are set to transform our societies in fundamental ways. Now is the crucial time to act to ensure their security and benefits for everyone. Since it is challenging to fully grasp the extent to which AI will change our world, finding effective ways to help individuals understand and engage with AI is essential, thereby building their AI literacy. The Seismic Foundation aims to achieve this through powerful storytelling and targeted media campaigns. Our goals include: Supporting key policy and industry standards outcomes that lead to controllable, beneficial AI for all Amplifying important AI security initiatives Increasing public awareness and encouraging proactive engagement By partnering with leading media, production, and public affairs organizations, we create highly engaging campaigns that raise salience, build awareness, and drive action. Our world-class media experts develop all our initiatives based on deep audience insights, carefully tested messaging, cut-through creative, and always with clear calls to action. Your Role We’re looking for a versatile and thoughtful
Graphic Designer
to bring clarity and emotion to Seismic’s mission through design. You’ll create visual assets across social media, editorial campaigns, reports, presentations, and events—making complex topics feel human, accessible, and worth caring about. Graphic design will be your focus, from layout to typography to image treatment. You’ll also contribute motion graphics when appropriate, bringing movement and energy to select assets across TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms. You’ll work closely with writers, producers, and strategists in a collaborative, mission-driven environment—helping us deliver content that’s both beautiful and impactful. What You’ll Do Graphic Design Across Channels Translate abstract concepts into emotionally resonant visuals across different content formats to make people feel ai. Design clear, compelling visuals for social media, editorial campaigns, reports, presentations, and more Maintain and elevate Seismic’s visual identity through consistent and thoughtful design decisions Photography & Visual Assets Collaborate on sourcing and curating imagery; help maintain Seismic’s
photo library Use photography intentionally—as both a narrative and design element—to enhance storytelling Develop easy-to-use
templates and toolkits
to support cross-functional teams with content creation (Bonus) Motion Graphics & Collaboration Contribute
motion graphics
for select content when animation enhances storytelling or engagement Work alongside writers, editors, and producers to align visuals with tone, message, and purpose Participate in creative planning and bring design insight into early editorial and campaign development What You Bring 5–7 years of experience as a graphic designer, with strong proficiency in digital-first content Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); working knowledge of After Effects, Figma, Canva, or similar tools A refined visual eye, with an understanding of typography, layout, color, and narrative composition Experience designing for social platforms, and adapting creative for different formats and audiences Ability to create short-form motion graphics (bonus if you have video editing experience as well) Familiarity with or interest in cause-based, editorial, or issue-driven design work Location & Compensation This is a New York-based hybrid role $80-90k Seniority level
