Overview

Site attendant will help open and close various areas of the Fort but will mainly staff the Palisade area. Attendant will operate the office register (counting the drawer and closing it out for the day), take admissions, donations, and sell merchandise. Attendant will walk the Palisade regularly to check for debris, clean bathrooms, dust/sweep and maintain exhibit/program rooms. Attendant is expected to help conduct tours of the site, provide information on relevant aspects of the site and its history, and interact with visitors in a professional and informative manner.

Responsibilities

Open and close designated areas, with primary staffing of the Palisade area.

Operate the office register: count the drawer, close out for the day, take admissions, process donations, and sell merchandise.

Monitor the Palisade for debris; clean bathrooms; dust and sweep; maintain exhibit/program rooms.

Conduct site tours; share information on the site's history and relevant aspects; interact with visitors professionally and informatively.

Assist with lifting items up to 50 lbs, regular walking around a 100-acre site, and navigating stairs; regular cleaning of historic structures as part of duties.

Part-time schedule with requirement to work most Saturdays.

Qualifications
