Overview

Sales Professional - Inside Sales at Service Corporation International. Accountable for serving client families by making at-need cemetery arrangements, and selling pre-need arrangements. The Family Service Counselor serves families by providing exemplary personalized service and plays an essential role in generating revenue for the cemetery as well as acting as the primary contact for families. Location: US-VA - Virginia Beach. Compensation: $50,000 to $100,000 targeted (higher earnings potential based on performance). This role requires evening and weekend availability and frequent travel by driving. Responsibilities

Lead Generation: Prospecting a minimum of 1-2 hours each day; obtain referrals from families served by the location; network and build community and civic relationships; explain and present to families served and referred families; maintain and track activity levels to ensure productivity. Build Relationships with Families: Respond to client inquiries in a timely, respectful, sensitive and professional manner; connect with families through listening, honest communication and genuine concern; understand each family’s needs and offer solutions that provide value; stay in touch to ensure satisfaction; prepare for appointments and perform procedures with professionalism; follow through on all customer problems and requests; earn referrals by building trust-based relationships. Teamwork: Represent a continuous link from services at need through aftercare, and provide services to protect families in the future; collaborate with funeral directors, location managers and other staff to provide seamless, high-quality service; review previous services and contacts to support current needs and/or sales; share family concerns with the SCI team. Minimum Requirements

Education

High school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of college or equivalent education and experience Experience

1-2 years of customer service or sales experience preferred Licenses

Current state/province issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record Insurance license if required by state/province law and as prescribed by state boards Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must be able to pass the Company’s internal presentation certification within thirty days of hire Ability to work evenings and/or weekends Ability to drive frequently Ability to obtain and maintain an insurance license if required by state/province Flexible hours; may work up to 12 hours in a day Ability to treat others with empathy and respect Knowledge of computers and some software Customer service skills Educational and experience requirements are representative of typical applicants for this role and are not intended to be construed as exclusive or exhaustive.
