Overview

Multimedia Content Specialist at University of Virginia’s College at Wise. The College invites applicants to apply for the Multimedia Content Specialist position. The Multimedia Content Specialist helps support the Office of Marketing and Communication’s core mission of elevating the brand locally, regionally, and nationally. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Communications, the incumbent helps deliver high-quality photo and video collateral to ensure the successful and consistent implementation and advancement of the UVA Wise brand. They have responsibility for day-to-day coordination and execution of photography, videography, and related projects. Responsibilities Produce visual content for sharing UVA Wise with key audiences: capture, edit and publish photography and other forms of visual storytelling (e.g., videos, slideshows) using direction from existing brand collateral and guidelines and the College’s marketing and communications plans. Photography will be used in print and digital projects and should span from headshots to news and feature photography. Assist the Art Director with planning and producing several videos telling the story of key institutional priorities (lengths from 15 seconds to two minutes) to be deployed via social media, the College’s website and email. Work with the marketing and communications team to execute photo and video shoots from production planning through post-shoot editing and communicate with key partners designated in each project’s creative brief. Provide quick turnaround on photos and video clips. Build and contribute photos to the College’s photo and video library; maintain and organize assets. Assist in photography trainings (and other best practices of visual storytelling) with teammates in the Office of Marketing and Communications and across campus. Contribute To Advancing The Reputation Of UVA Wise By Participating As a Team Member In The Office Of Marketing And Communications Work on a creative in-house marketing and communications team; cultivate strong relationships with partners inside and outside of the department. Assist in the following responsibilities: Gather information and insights as well as competitive analyses according to appropriate business need(s) and audience(s). Strategize and implement projects that enhance the brand experience for key audiences in Admissions, Advancement, Athletics and Economic Development/Government Relations, ensuring alignment with the UVA Wise brand and project objectives. Assist with posting to the College’s social media in the absence of the primary coordinator. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred in art, marketing, English, communications, or another relevant subject. At least 2 years demonstrated experience in photography, videography, and related areas, especially in complex environments. Experience coordinating photography and videography shoots. Strong interpersonal skills, including professional written and verbal communication to both internal partners and outside organizations. Collaborative and flexible team-player. Excellent organization skills and proven ability to prioritize and execute multiple, complex projects. Diplomacy, sound judgment and ability to work with tact and professionalism with people from different walks of life. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Self-starter in capturing stories through visual storytelling and sharing ideas with teammates. Able to edit and deliver content on tight deadlines.
