May install and maintain related equipment at customer site. Responsibilities

Maintain regular communication with facility leadership regarding delivery dispatching, installation and service of fuel products and equipment; provide updates and input on equipment condition, account issues, supply of materials, and other critical factors. Operate SSC commercial motor vehicles delivering fuel products (heating oil, kerosene, diesel, gasoline) and may operate vehicles carrying liquid propane; comply with all U.S. DOT regulations for operating a commercial vehicle. Load fuel for delivery according to standard operating procedures; handle and lift canisters, use load hose, meters, gauges, and terminal controls for bulk loading; obtain distribution of fuel from SSC facilities or third-party terminals; may load pressurized liquid propane. Provide safe, reliable, and prompt delivery to customers according to work orders and account service plans; handle, lift, load and unload equipment and supplies using proper tools and safety techniques; calibrate equipment to proper settings; perform calculations to maintain accurate record of fuel supply for remaining deliveries. Represent SSC professionally with customers and suppliers; review account details with customers during deliveries; provide information on delivered products and equipment; collect account payments; confirm future deliveries to maintain customer inventory. Perform on-site installation of fuel equipment for new customers, general maintenance, adjustments and/or repair work as required by location. Utilize and maintain equipment and vehicles; perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs to keep equipment and vehicles in good condition; advise supervisor of complex equipment issues. Maintain daily truck reports, logs, vehicle and equipment maintenance records, and related documents accurately and timely. Assist with inventory of fuel products; adhere to inventory control initiatives; assist with shipping/receiving as needed; operate forklift and other material handling equipment per procedures. Participate in specialized training, certification courses, and meetings as requested; stay current on industry safety and operational standards. Maintain a clean and orderly work area; minimize and dispose of waste properly; perform related cleaning of equipment, vehicle, and work areas per Housekeeping Plan and SSC procedures. Perform work safely, use PPE as required, operate all equipment per SSC policy and regulations; comply with OSHA and SSC EHS standards. Perform all other job functions as assigned. Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Grade 424 Experience:

Prefer previous experience operating a commercial motor vehicle delivering fuel products or maintaining related equipment. Previous SSC work experience is a plus. Licensing requirements vary by location; requires Commercial Driver’s License (Class C or Class B); requires Hazardous Materials Endorsement (or ability to obtain); may require Tanker Endorsement (or ability to obtain); requires Petroleum and/or Propane Certification (or ability to obtain). Grade 426 Experience:

Requires minimum of two (2) years as a Petroleum Driver or equivalent, loading and delivering petroleum products and installing/maintaining equipment at customer sites. Licensing varies by location; requires CDL (Class B or A); Hazardous Materials Endorsement; may require Tanker and/or Air Brake Endorsements; requires Petroleum and/or Propane Certification; Gas Fitter’s License preferred in some locations. Requirements (increasing with grade):

Safe operation of a motor vehicle, completion of one-on-one training with experienced Petroleum Driver, ability to learn SSC petroleum operations procedures and government regulations, ability to interpret manuals and diagrams, ability to work independently, strong mathematical and computer literacy skills, attention to detail, professional customer communication, English proficiency, willingness to work extended hours, and safety-focused mindset. Work Environment and Physical:

Drives a commercial vehicle, outdoors in varying weather, and in warehouses with seasonal temperatures; exposure to fuels, moving parts, noise, dust, and electrical hazards; schedule may vary with peak seasons; 24/7 on-call or standby in many locations; ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift up to 170+ pounds with assistance where required.
