DESCRIPTION:

Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a leader in RNA-targeted therapy with a multi-platform approach to discover, develop and deliver life-transforming therapies. The Cardiometabolic Account Specialist (CAS) is a field-based role responsible for the launch of Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product within their territory. The CAS will have a deep understanding of the healthcare market and the Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) community, including key customers and accounts treating cardiovascular and lipid-related diseases. The role involves driving performance and collaborating with cross-functional partners and external customers to support Ionis goals and patient access.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Understand the objectives and needs of each customer to improve patient outcomes by building, maintaining, and leveraging networks within the local healthcare system.

Develop and execute effective business plans to meet customer and Ionis goals; serve as a cross-functional teammate and collaborate with a diverse team while complying with Ionis Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.

Engage customers to educate HCPs and office staff on FCS disease state, diagnostic pathways, and treatment options.

Participate in conferences and scientific meetings to educate HCPs on FCS.

Gather insights to profile accounts and inform product sales and marketing strategy; understand local referral networks and patterns for FCS patients.

Develop and execute territory strategic account plans to maximize opportunities and customer satisfaction; engage endocrinologists, cardiologists and other sub-specialties treating FCS.

Participate in field meetings and training to understand brand messaging and engagement tactics; certify on approved label and applicable policies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer needs and ensure a compliant patient experience.

Share learnings with field leadership and leverage platforms to engage customers compliantly across channels.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree

5+ years of pharma sales experience with relevant competencies

Experience in New Product launches and account-based selling

HCP and IDN engagement; cross-functional field team coordination

Ability to manage a sales territory independently

Background in cardiology, endocrinology, or related sub-specialties treating FCS

Familiarity with Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) community

Established relationships with KOLs and major accounts

Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies

Strong clinical knowledge and patient-focused approach
