Job Description: AECOM is seeking a Deputy Program Director for K-12 projects in the state of Georgia. This person will be directly responsible for the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (E-SPLOST) Capital Improvement Program and related operations for a public school district serving 40K students across 70+ school facilities. Responsibilities
Oversees the design and permitting for all projects assigned Coordinates project requirements with 3rd party agencies as needed Manages the design consultants and CM deliverables Provides input required for the Monthly Program Report relative to current status and issues to the Construction Manager Reviews and recommends approval of construction delivery proposals Evaluates, coordinates and provides recommendations to the Client for changes and/or modifications to design consultants, contractors’ scope of services Manages all deliverable reviews and resolves review comments with design consultants Reviews and recommends bulletins and change orders Technical management of assigned design consultant Participates in and chairs progress meetings to review project status Participates in weekly Project Coordination Meetings and design review/comment reconciliation meetings Facilitates resolution of technical and contractual issues Participates in Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings and reviews RFIs Provides input concerning Errors & Omissions issues Monitors project scope, budgets, schedules, and quality; reports deviations to Client and design consultant/construction contractor Manages corrective action to scope, budgets, schedules and quality Manages design and construction support activities Assists with design evaluations, studies, reports and alternative rankings Manages the design consultant’s construction phase services during construction Facilitates phasing and logistics meetings Manages staff assigned to the Project Manager and coordinates with Project Administrators Performs other duties as assigned by the Deputy Program Director and/or Design and Construction Director Evaluates A/E’s and Contractors and provides primary consulting services to clients Assesses and manages risk on behalf of the client Wears required PPE as appropriate Oversees client-procured architects, contractors, and consultants Resolves difficult project issues with schedule or cost impact Basic project management training and certification preferred Occasional standing/walking; outdoor work in varying conditions Qualifications
BA/BS in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field + 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency, including 2 years of leadership as a Senior Project Manager Experience with Georgia K-12 programs and with GADOE Construction management of K-12 programs Management of K-12 Planning, Design, and Construction Must pass State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment Must pass pre-employment drug screen US citizenship required Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience managing vertical construction projects or related CCM certification by CMAA or PMP by PMI preferred OSHA 30-Hour Training certificate preferred Additional Information
