Position Overview QinetiQ US is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable
Senior
Accountant
to support our Finance & Accounting operations in a fast-paced, federally regulated environment. As a key member of the Accounting team, you will help manage journal entries, trial balance trend, Balance sheet reconciliations and support GL activities in alignment with both corporate objectives and federal compliance requirements. This role is ideal for a professional with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of financial operations within a federal contracting context.
Responsibilities
Manage day to day accounting operations, including general ledger entries and maintenance.
Support month-end and year-end close processes and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare journal entries as assigned ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks.
Prepare and maintain assigned balance sheet account reconciliations
Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules for leadership and external auditors.
Support DCAA audits, incurred cost submissions, and other government financial reviews.Assist in developing, implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
Maintain documentation for audit readiness and internal controls compliance.
Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis as needed
Partner with cross functional teams, including payroll, IT, HR and other departments
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in accounting, corporate finance, or accounting
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; proficiency in Excel and financial systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
Expertise with Microsoft Office applications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of FAR, DCAA, and federal compliance frameworks is a plus.
Experience within a federal contracting environment strongly preferred.
