Overview The Department of Neuroscience and Psychiatry, Division of Psychiatry is looking for an independent, enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Assistant to the Chair. This position provides high-level administrative support for the Department Chair, Department Administrator, and Department leadership, including Vice Chairs and the Chief Physician. The Assistant to the Chair coordinates administrative tasks, tracks training and other faculty compliance metrics, and supports strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency for learners and patients. The role also supports faculty recruitment, meetings and project coordination, and communication across clinical, academic, and administrative teams.

Responsibilities

Provide high-level administrative support for the Department Chair, Department Administrator, and department leadership.

Coordinate administrative tasks and track training and faculty compliance metrics.

Support strategic initiatives to improve efficiency for learners and patients.

Assist with faculty recruitment, meetings, project coordination, and cross-team communication across clinical, academic, and administrative units.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree plus 5 years of related management experience required.

5-7 years of experience in a related administrative management position required.

Knowledge of institutional/departmental policies and procedures.

Knowledge of management practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent organizational, communication and resource skills.

Ability to reorganize, interpret and advise regarding disparate financial data.

Ability to train, direct and oversee the work of others.

Ability to work in a professional, ethical, courteous manner.

Ability to operate personal computer and all Microsoft Office programs as well as other departmental software.

Ability to manage a dynamic growth-oriented environment.
