We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned
Stewarding Supervisor
to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort opening team. You will be an integral member of the team that creates distinctively different and authentic culinary experiences for our guests.
Reporting to the Executive Steward & Stewarding Manager, you will support and provide excellent service within our culinary department. This high-volume position requires a passion for stewarding and culinary arts.
Responsibilities
Ordering supplies appropriately to ensure proper par levels are maintained
Assisting with inventory and storage of food and beverage equipment
Ensuring all ware washing equipment and kitchen equipment are clean and in proper working condition; review daily cleanliness practices with stewarding team and maintain the daily cleaning schedule
Assisting in spearheading and managing the kitchen recycling program; assist the Executive Steward and Executive Chef with special projects and initiatives
Maintaining cleanliness of all back-of-house areas including kitchens and walk-ins
Delivering food for banquet events and breaking down stations at the end of events
Managing and monitoring inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary
Conducting regular inspections to ensure areas are cleaned and maintained to company standards
Providing training and development to staff on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and equipment usage
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent education preferred
Minimum of 2 years’ stewarding experience, with 1 year in a stewarding leadership role
Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
Physical Requirements Most work tasks are performed indoors with moderate temperature control. Position requires walking and giving direction most of the day; must be able to stand and move for up to 6 hours. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, stretching, and cleaning tasks. Finger dexterity is required for office equipment. Temperature can vary, including extreme conditions in freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F). Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 200 lbs occasionally. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and visual acuity.
