Position Overview
We are seeking a
Research Development Consultant
to join our Houston team. In this role, you’ll support our consultants in conducting R&D tax credit studies by collecting technical and financial data, preparing documentation, and learning the fundamentals of the RTC process. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about tax incentives and innovation-driven industries. Key Responsibilities
Support project teams in delivering accurate, high-quality R&D tax credit studies. Collect and analyze technical and financial documentation from clients. Assist in documenting qualified research activities in compliance with tax credit regulations. Draft technical reports and ensure data accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and finance professionals to understand client R&D initiatives. Learn and apply SR&ED and related R&D tax guidelines to project work. Track time and project activities accurately using Salesforce CRM. Participate in internal training programs to build subject matter expertise. Support the preparation of T661 forms and other required documentation. Contribute to team meetings, process improvement, and client communication under supervision. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related STEM field. Exposure to or interest in R&D Tax Credit, tax incentives, or related work, with a willingness to learn and grow in this area. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. Interest in developing expertise in R&D tax credits and working cross-functionally. Willingness to work in a hybrid environment and travel up to 25%. Preferred Skills
Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems. Internship or entry-level experience in tax, accounting, or consulting. Familiarity with SR&ED or other government incentive programs is a plus. Perks and Benefits
