Overview
Part Time Police Officer – City of Montgomery Join to apply for the Part Time Police Officer role at City of Montgomery. Nature of Work and Responsibilities
The fundamental purpose of this position is to provide protection and security for the citizens of Montgomery. Police officers serve as entry-level sworn personnel in one of the Montgomery Police Department (MPD) divisions. Incumbents perform daily patrols, traffic control, investigations, and communications efforts. They respond to emergency incidents, may participate in narcotics undercover operations, and secure crime scenes. Officers document events and procedures in writing and may present information in a court of law. They are typically supervised by Sergeants and report through the chain of command. Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED, certificate and completion of Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission's minimum standards training with a current CEU standard. Qualifying education, training, and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered. Special Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a valid Alabama Driver's License prior to employment. An employee's assignment may require working first, second, or third shift and may include weekends and holidays. Kind of Examination / Application Process
