Contra Costa Health has an excellent employment opportunity for a full‑time Network Administrator I, assigned primarily to the Health Services Information Technology Unit located in Concord, CA.

What you will typically be responsible for:

Managing systems in our data centers, including servers, storage, backups, virtualization platforms, and providing servers for our customers

Managing and deploying virtual desktop infrastructure systems as part of a team

Working with a team to manage and support on‑premises Active Directory, group policy

Using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager to manage system updates and software installations

Troubleshooting various systems, access, and tier 2 support for our end users

Managing and deploying thin client endpoints in clinical environments

Working directly with end users, supervisors, and key stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, information processing or a closely related field.

Experience: Three (3) years of full‑time or its equivalent experience in designing, installing, and helping to maintain complex multi‑site Network Server Operating Systems, Systems administration including storage, virtualization and cloud.

Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis up to a maximum of four years.

Desirable qualifications:

Certifications in the areas we are hiring for (iGel, Citrix, Windows, SCCM, VMware.)

Selection Process

Application Filing and Evaluation: Applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application. Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.

Online Multiple‑Choice Test: Candidates who clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online test. The assessment will measure candidates’ competencies that may include but are not limited to: adaptability, critical thinking, professional and technical expertise, analyzing and interpreting data, and customer focus. Candidates must receive a score of at least 70%, which may be an adjusted score, in order to be ranked on the employment list. (Weighted 100%)

TENTATIVE DATES: Online Multiple‑Choice Test: 11/12/25-11/17/25

Note: If you apply for another recruitment that uses this exam and the test is scheduled within six (6) months of the date you took the test this time, you will not have the option to re‑take the exam. If more than six (6) months have passed, you will need to retake the exam. The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.
