Overview
Litigation Financial Analyst supporting the US Attorney's Office. FSA Federal has partnered with iHire to recruit for this opening. The role supports the mission of the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) in the asset forfeiture process and related financial analysis.
Responsibilities
Assists the legal team by tracing, reviewing, and analyzing financial records from investigations to determine the source and delivery of funds, the nature and volume of transactions, account relationships, criminal proceeds, and assets/funds that meet thresholds and legal requirements for forfeiture.
Assists prosecutors in preparing for court proceedings by developing legal theories for forfeiture and preparing exhibits, charts, and abstracts of the financial evidence.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA certification preferred
Three years of accounting, finance, or related experience
Strong organizational and prioritization skills; ability to work with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills; oral and written
Intermediate experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other software and databases; advanced skills preferred
Proven commitment to excellent customer service; positive and flexible; ability to multi-task
Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a professional disposition under pressure
Candidates with investigative and litigation experience preferred
Clearances This position requires U.S. Citizenship and a 7 (or 10) year minimum background investigation.
Agency Overview The United States Attorney's Office (USAO) serves as the nation's principal litigators under the direction of the Attorney General. The Asset Forfeiture Section at the USAO prosecutes criminal and civil actions against property used or acquired during illegal activity.
