Overview

Summer Equity Research Analyst (Summer 2026) – 10 to 12 Weeks. Location: New York, NY. Hours: Monday through Friday (on-site), 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Nippon Life Global Investors Americas (NLGIA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Life Insurance Company (Nippon Life). NLGIA is the principal overseas asset management subsidiary of Nippon Life and manages assets across Equity, Fixed Income, Private Equity, Private Debt and Real Assets (Real Estate & Infrastructure). Nippon Life is a large global insurer with operations in New York, London and Singapore and has expanded across several continents through subsidiaries and representative offices. The information below summarizes the Summer Equity Research Analyst role.

Responsibilities

Assist in analytical coverage of the firm’s North American equity investments and ESG recommendations. Conduct company-specific and industry-level research to aid analysts in recommending stock ideas to the portfolio manager. Help form an investment idea and articulate the argument clearly for communication to portfolio managers. Share ideas with portfolio managers and may assist PMs with research related to new fund development.

Qualifications and Experience

Independent and motivated thinker with initiative and strong research skills; demonstrated record of achievement. The ability to work within a team and independently; strong analytical/modeling, communication, and presentation skills. Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or related field with a strong academic record; progress toward CFA is a plus. Anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and June 2028; minimum GPA 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. Ability to work on-site Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm in our NYC office. Previous internships and/or related work experience in financial services is required; strong preference for candidates with experience or interest in equity investing through coursework, internships, independent research, or relevant extracurricular involvement.

Compensation

The expected hourly rate for this position ranges from $30.00/hour to $40.00/hour. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
