Integer Technologies is seeking a Robotics Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced autonomy software on maritime robotic platforms. This role involves end-to-end contributions across the autonomy stack—including edge processing, sensor fusion, mapping, localization, and control—tailored for real-world performance in constrained and uncertain environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in state estimation and real-time robotics software development, with hands-on experience in both simulation and field testing. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, eligible for a DoD security clearance, and capable of working across multidisciplinary teams to deliver scalable, maintainable, and mission-ready systems. Experience in maritime autonomy, multi-agent coordination, and distributed systems is highly desirable. Primary Responsibilities

Deploy autonomy algorithms across the full software stack—including perception, localization, mapping, and control—in simulation and on physical robotic platforms. Work with sensors and sensor data (e.g., GPS, IMU, LiDAR, sonar, cameras) to help improve navigation and situational awareness using techniques like Kalman Filters or particle filters. Develop and improve upon edge processing algorithms to balance computational speed with power demands for optimal mission planning. Execute field tests and simulations to validate autonomy behavior and system performance, using the results to refine system design. Develop clear, concise technical documentation, including interface specifications, deployment guides, and post-test analysis reporting. Core Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance. Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields (e.g., computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other related field) and 4+ years of experience relevant to primary responsibilities outlined above. OR Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g., computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other related field) and 2+ years of experience relevant to primary responsibilities outlined above. Experience developing robotic or autonomous systems, using data from various perception sensor types (sonar, magnetic, cameras, lidar, etc.) to enhance a robotic platform\'s perception of its surrounding environmental and potential navigational hazards. Strong proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., C++, Python) and experience with middleware such as DDS, MQTT, Zenoh, ROS, or other real-time communication frameworks. Understanding of the Navy and Department of Defense’s mission, problem set, and strategy for the integration of autonomous systems. Additional Qualifications

Ph.D. in relevant field (e.g., computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other related field) Experience with unmanned and autonomous systems research involving maritime autonomous systems such as uncrewed surface vessels and uncrewed underwater vessels. Familiarity with digital twin development Familiarity with maritime sensors (acoustics, magnetic, positioning, etc.) Experience with edge processing Experience in using AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Flux, or similar).
