Summary As an External Wholesaler at Capital Square, you’ll play a crucial role in expanding our advisor base within a designated geographic area. Your primary duties will include raising equity capital from independent broker-dealer partners and RIAs under $300M AUM for Capital Square’s offerings. You will be responsible for developing and managing sales leads and relationships, presenting investment opportunities such as REITs, LLCs, Qualified Opportunity Zones, and Delaware statutory trusts (DSTs) for 1031 exchangers. This role requires a strong background in sales, real estate, and securities, as well as proficiency in CRM tools like Salesforce. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, Distribution & National Accounts, you will contribute to our growth and success by meeting sales targets and representing Capital Square at industry events.
Primary Responsibilities
Identify, develop, grow and maintain relationships with independent broker-dealer advisors and independent planners in the assigned territory
Effectively communicate Capital Square’s competitive advantage and open offerings
Discuss complex issues and navigate selling opportunities in a consultative way, always prepared to propose any one of Capital Square’s several strategies
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce, including contacts, pipeline opportunities, and notes
Present, attend, and work the room at industry and partner conferences, providing notes and leads back to the appropriate territory wholesaler(s) as needed
Collaboratively work with National Accounts on bottom-up driven prospective independent broker-dealers
Collaboratively work with Marketing on event and marketing collateral needs
Travel to the territory approximately 75% of the time (at least 15 of every 20 business days)
Knowledge And Skills Requirements
College education preferred or 5+ years of alternative industry experience
FINRA Registration (Series 7 and 63) required
Excellent presentation skills
Proven success raising equity capital within the independent broker-dealer channel
Valid driver’s license and appropriate insurance coverage required
Deep knowledge of real estate investments, quickly learn advanced tax topics and market information
Proficiency in using CRM systems, specifically Salesforce, and standard office software including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Work Location Maintaining residency within assigned territory
