Martinsburg VA Medical Center offers a comprehensive range of services, including internal medicine, ambulatory surgery, audiology and speech pathology, dental, nursing home, nutrition, podiatry, prosthetics, women's health, mental health and rehabilitation medicine. Patient care is provided through an integrated primary care concept, and each veteran is assigned to a team of health care providers that follows the patient's care both as an inpatient and an outpatient.
Duties Psychiatric admission to inpatient unit, including work‑up, diagnostic assessment, and provision of treatment; conduct risk and memory (MMSE/MoCA) assessments on patients using psychiatric principles; perform mental status examinations; perform AIMS; diagnose movement disorders; perform MMSE; make psychiatric diagnoses using current DSM and ICD criteria; provide psychiatric consultation to other providers on patients with mental, behavioral, or emotional disorders; manage a full range of psychotropic medication; manage psychiatric issues in geriatric patients; manage patients with addictive disorders; perform supportive psychotherapy; perform eclectic cognitive psychotherapy; perform group psychotherapy; perform family and marital therapy; evaluation, admission, and detoxification of alcohol/opiate dependence.
