Overview
CalPERS is seeking an Assistant Division Chief, ISS within the Enterprise Solutions Development Division (ESDD). The incumbent will lead the Investments Support Section, oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), and manage a state-of-the-art INVO technology ecosystem, including SaaS-based investment platforms, integration platforms, and data processing pipelines feeding a centralized data platform. This role involves direct management of state teams, consultants, and vendor partners, including oversight of strategic direction and deliverables. Responsibilities
Lead the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and manage the INVO technology ecosystem, including SaaS-based investment platforms, integration platforms, and data processing pipelines feeding a centralized data platform. Plan, manage, and execute high-impact projects while delivering and maintaining mission-critical investment applications; ensure seamless integration across SaaS platforms, interaction platforms, and the data platform; align initiatives with the Investment Office Strategic Plan. Directly manage and be accountable for state teams, consultants, and vendor partners, including oversight of their strategic direction and deliverables. Qualifications
Experience at the Information Technology Manager II level or equivalent, with leadership of IT development and operations that support investment functions; ability to apply this experience to complex investment-related systems. Ability to shape operating models or resource plans for IT teams and collaborate with stakeholders to align with business goals. Experience leading modernization or innovation efforts with measurable impact. Experience building and mentoring IT teams, driving culture change, and fostering collaboration and recognition. Experience engaging business leaders or committees to influence technology decisions and build executive-level trust. Position Details
Location: Sacramento County; Telework: Hybrid (up to 40% remote); Job Type: Permanent, Full Time; Salary: $11,388.00 - $13,842.00. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum of the classification or applicable alternate range. Additional Information
