Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) System Administrator

to operate and maintain enterprise VDI service for the Department of the Air Force in support of internal EITaaS teams and DAF MAJCOMs. Responsibilities

Responsible for implementing and maintaining Azure Virtual Desktop VDI capabilities, providing end users with maximum functionality while maintaining application security. Work with your manager to understand requirements, priorities, and objectives to ensure work supports the larger capabilities and direction of the overall solution. Support continuous monitoring efforts to proactively resolve environmental and user issues. Triage and work with team to resolve AVD user and system issues. Support Windows Zero Touch Implementation (ZTI) processes for AVD solutions. Support the management and maintenance of Azure AVD resources and OS images including deployment of monthly OS and application patches to existing AVD VMs. Assess end-to-end systems performance using operational measurements or other available test beds to meet end-to-end performance objectives. Execute PowerShell and Terraform scripts and other deployment capabilities to automate Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) functionality and operations. Develop and maintain SOP documentation for the EITaaS VDI Azure Virtual Desktop environment. Qualifications

Required: Active secret clearance or the ability to obtain. 8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP). 10+ years of relevant experience (bachelor’s degree in an applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience). 5+ years’ experience working with Azure cloud services. Hands-on experience writing scripts for automation (e.g., bash, python, PowerShell, etc.). Experience maintaining Azure compute and storage services, including dedicated hosts, virtual machines, images, storage accounts, and managed disks. Proficiency and strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and firewall configuration for VDI infrastructure. Experience troubleshooting and monitoring network, application, and infrastructure. Experience with securing systems by following STIGs, best practices, and government/compliance requirements (such as NIST 800-53, FISMA, FEDRAMP), and negotiating/working with compliance personnel to arrive at sensible solutions. Hands-on experience managing AVD user profiles with FSLogix. Experience with managing Active Directory domain user and computer objects. Understanding of Microsoft platform services: ADCS, ADFS, DNS & DHCP, Remote Desktop Services. Knowledge of Windows Smartcard authentication in AD domain environment. Desired: Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards. Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM). Experience with network traffic analysis/troubleshooting. Experience with Azure cloud environments for US Government and DoD, including DoD Cloud Computing SRG and NIST 800-53 Rev 5 and NIST 800-171 Rev. 3. One of the following certifications: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer, or Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty. What You Can Expect

The proposed salary range is $75,200-$158,100. Final salary is influenced by factors including location, experience, skills, education, and certifications.
