Join Affiliated Oncologists as an Admixture Tech Sr. AO specializes in treating a variety of cancers including lymphoma, lung, breast, prostate, gynecologic, colorectal, and head and neck cancers. Our physicians and staff are a multidisciplinary team focused on helping patients and their families receive the best care and support possible. Scope:

Under direct supervision of a physician in a clinic admixture room, performs the technical, nonjudgmental aspects of medication preparation. With minimal supervision, responsible for record keeping and inventory control. Tasks are subject to sequential or final verification by a pharmacist. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. State law may regulate that only licensed individuals perform compounding or mixing responsibilities; accordingly, some incumbents may be prohibited from certain tasks. Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare medication orders by compounding and admixing medications under supervision of a physician and licensed pharmacist. Check all orders for completeness of information. Verify patient information and proper physician authorization. Verify insurance approval for all orders before admixing. Under a clinical professional's supervision, admixes drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner per department guidelines, preparing all drugs within USP standards, OSHA guidelines, and practice policies. Calculate correct dosage volumes and convert between metric and apothecary equivalents. Demonstrate competency in drug calculations. Adhere to state and federal laws concerning controlled substances and comply with all medication requirements per DEA, FDA, IDFPR, IDPH, and USP regulations. Dispose of materials used when mixing hazardous or non-hazardous dosage forms. Maintain USP standards daily. Log and date all drugs used via automated medication dispensing system (Lynx). Maintain and verify daily inventory, temperature monitoring logs, and facility conditions per USP regulations. Collaborate with Clinical Research Coordinator to maintain accurate logs on protocol drugs and patient assistance drugs. Maintain proper control documentation of medications, including lot numbers and expiration dates, and other quality assurance tasks. Complete inventory control of medications. Order necessary supplies and medications to complete daily tasks of medication preparation. Receive and shelve medications. Understand department automation, data entry, and report generation. Order medications and supplies as directed. Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the admix area and the pharmacy department to minimize particle counts and improve sanitation per USP rules and regulations. Support entry-level certified pharmacy technicians, take initiative, and assist team processes as applicable. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum five years of experience in a pharmacy with strong sterile compounding skills (strongly preferred). Oncology or specialty experience with strong sterile compounding skills (strongly preferred). Sterile Compounding Technician certification strongly preferred. Licensed pharmacy technician per state law required. Pharmacy Technician Certification required. Completion of an ASHP-accredited program or community college-based program recommended. Competencies

This position requires occasional travel to and work at multiple Affiliated Oncologists sites. Compensation

Hourly Range: $26.00 - $36.00 per hour Benefits Offered
