Leapros has been engaged by an aerospace manufacturing company in LA County to fill a managerial role in the Quality Department. This is a rare opportunity to join the leadership team at a 75 year old family business. Position title:

Quality Manager Position summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the company’s quality management system to ensure compliance with AS9100 and all customer requirements. This role serves as the primary champion for quality, driving continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across the organization. The Quality Manager will manage internal and external audits, oversee corrective and preventive action systems, and ensure product and process conformity. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments, suppliers, and customers to maintain the highest standards of quality and reliability. Responsibilities

Maintain and continuously improve the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, NADCAP, 10CFR Part21, and all customer and regulatory requirements. Maintain revision control and distribution of quality documents, procedures, and records in accordance with AS9100 requirements. Own full responsibility for managing and maintaining the company’s corrective action systems, including external (customer), internal, and supplier corrective actions. Ensure all corrective actions are documented, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner, consistent with AS9100 and customer requirements. Facilitate root cause analysis, implement effective corrective and preventive measures, and verify implementation to prevent recurrence. Provide visibility of corrective action status and trends to leadership through regular reporting and metrics. Plan, coordinate, and lead internal audits, customer audits, and third-party audits; ensure timely closure of audit findings and corrective actions. Support APQP and PPAP activities, including FMEAs, control plans, and AS9102 First Article Inspections. Oversee supplier quality performance and manage supplier corrective actions. Maintain revision control and distribution of quality documents, procedures, and records in accordance with AS9100 requirements. Oversee the work and development of inspection personnel and Quality Assurance Engineers; promote quality awareness throughout the organization. Provide training on QMS procedures, standards, and best practices in accordance with AS9100; lead the Quality/Inspection team with accountability and cross-functional teamwork. Collaborate with engineering, production, and leadership to resolve issues, implement best practices, and foster a culture of quality. Support day-to-day quality issue resolution and participate in hiring activities for the Quality department as needed. Lead the MRB process to disposition nonconforming product; ensure decisions support on-time delivery and protect product quality and customer satisfaction. Manage customer return (RMA) system to rectify non-conformances and prevent non-compliance escapement. Develop and track KPIs, present updates to management on quality trends and risks, and drive initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction. Ensure safety, organization, and cleanliness (6S) within the department. Oversee the calibration program to ensure accuracy and compliance; conduct Annual Quality Management Review (MRR) as required by AS9100. Maintain knowledge of PCS products, including materials, processes, and performance requirements, to effectively support manufacturing and quality; apply GD&T and inspection methodology as needed. Qualifications

Must be a US Person. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Quality Systems in a Manufacturing/Aerospace environment. Experience managing corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects. Experience leading internal and external audits with strong auditing techniques. Minimum 3 years of personnel management experience (leading teams). Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities; capable of building a high-performing team. Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to interface with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. Positive attitude, good communication, and teamwork orientation.
