Specification Sales Manager – Flooring & Interior Products
Industry Sector: Carpet, Carpet Tile, Flooring, Interiors, A&D, Architects and Interior Designers, Specifiers, Flooring Contractors, Fit‑Out Contractors, Education, Building Surveyors, Letting Agents, Estate Management and Local Authorities.
Area to be covered: South West and South Wales.
Remuneration: £50,000‑£55,000 base salary + up to £10,000 uncapped commission.

Key Responsibilities
Field sales role selling a full range of manufactured floor coverings/carpet tiles.
Promote multi‑loop and low‑loop carpet tiles as well as some ranges of Full Repeatable Scroll (FRS).
Selling into architects and interior designers (A&D) and also into fit‑out contractors, property developers, universities, colleges, end users, building surveyors, letting agents, estate management, local authorities and main contractors.
Collaborate with another trade field sales professional responsible for account‑managing direct flooring contractor accounts in the area.
Inherit an area with a turnover of approximately £750,000‑£800,000 and target £1.2m in sales.
Develop new business while maintaining a healthy project bank to inherit.
Target commercial buildings such as office blocks and the education sector (schools, universities & colleges) with a small amount of healthcare projects.
Utilise ABI leads and in‑house CRM database.
Manage projects from 500 m², typically £10,000 upwards in project value.
Qualifications & Attributes
Proven track record selling into the architect or interior designer specification marketplace.
Ideal candidate from the flooring/carpet industry.
Open to interior products such as wall coverings, fabric, ceiling, partitioning, or furniture.
Contacts within fit‑out contractors, universities, colleges, end users, building surveyors, letting agents, estate management and local authorities not essential.
Tactile sales background rather than purely technical, selling something aesthetically pleasing, ideally flooring related.
Flooring knowledge is desirable but not essential.
Team player with energy, passion and enthusiasm.
Strong commercial and presentation skills.
