Job Summary and Responsibilities

Job Requirements
  • MD or DO degree
  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited residency program and a Hospice and Palliative Medicine or Geriatric Medicine fellowship
  • A passion for providing clinically excellent care
  • Active/Eligible ABMS certification Internal Medicine / Hospice & Palliative Care Medicine
  • Must have or be eligible for an AZ State medical license
  • Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals

Dignity Health Medical Group - Arizona is seeking a full-time clinical and academic physician for the multidisciplinary Palliative Care service line in its flagship location of St. Joseph s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

  • Provide direct patient care in the inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Provide clinical supervision and teaching for two fellows in training in the Creighton University School of Medicine Phoenix Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship program
  • Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with rotational weekend hospital and call coverage
  • Be part of an interdisciplinary team that provides excellent care for all patients

The position consists of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities within a single location on the hospital campus. You will have access to full support staff, including nursing, social work, and chaplain support. The medical group is a multi-specialty group that includes specialists in primary care, pulmonary medicine, endocrinology, palliative care, cardiology, infectious disease, gastroenterology, and other surgical specialties.
