PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Test sample preparation, assembly, and testing Long / Short Term Burst Test ASTM D1599 Pressure Burst Burst Test MTS Test (if applicable) DSC Test LOI Test Perform R&D, product development, and long-term testing setup/monitoring Perform chemical characterization of raw materials and products in accordance with the provisions of the Quality Lab’s analytical procedures. Assist in developing QA lab analytical procedures, whenever possible, based on national and/or internationally recognized technical standards. Maintain lab records of samples tested Assist in the processing, testing, and evaluation Field return samples General maintenance of lab equipment and maintain a clean, organized lab area Inspecting sample failures and determining cause of failure Using lab equipment for analysis of pipe – microscope, DSC and other equipment deemed necessary to complete tasks at hand Assisting with winding prototype fiberglass pipe for testing Cleaning work area and machines after use, keeping tools and equipment organized and stored when not in use Measuring production parts and molds to verify that dimensions fall within tolerances Wear appropriate PPE in required areas Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines and procedures Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines and procedures Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines and procedures Other duties as assigned EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s or Technical Degree with aspects associated with Manufacturing, Engineering, or Business operations, preferred Three years shop/lab related experience JOB REQUIREMENTS Ability to work overtime Standing up to 10 hours daily Walking up to 10 hours daily Bending/Stooping up to 10 hours daily Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping/fastening) up to 10 hours daily Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. regularly Push/Pull up to 10 hours daily Travel less than 5% Physically demanding position BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES Dependability/Attendance/Punctuality Problem Solving/Judgement Thoroughness/Craftsmanship Attention to detail Safe working habits Work well with others/Team player TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES Knowledge of shop tools/machinery.
