About the Role

As a Production Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of Coyuchi’s global production processes. You will spend over 50% of your time managing vendor relationships, overseeing production schedules, resolving issues, conducting quality control approvals, obtaining sustainability certifications, and negotiating costs with vendors to meet our targets. This in-office position in San Francisco requires collaboration with internal teams and external partners to maintain our go-to-market calendar while adhering to Coyuchi's unique standards. We're looking for someone with experience in softgoods production; familiarity with organic or sustainable products is a plus! A successful candidate will be an adept problem solver and project manager with a strong sense of urgency who embraces challenges as opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage daily relationships with vendors and sourcing agents to ensure timely production and accurate approvals.
• Communicate daily with vendors/agents to prioritize tasks and provide purchase order details.
• Identify potential production issues and escalate them to the Director with proposed solutions.
• Prepare and manage production plans and purchase order priorities to meet company timelines.
• Maintain reliable production trackers to ensure accuracy.
• Manage cost line sheets reflecting item specifications, approvals, and costs/IMU.
• Lead first cost negotiations to achieve target IMU through effective negotiation and product engineering.
• Review and approve all samples from pre-production to top of production, providing feedback to vendors/agents.
• Review and approve packaging submissions and relay comments to vendors/agents promptly.
• Provide regular and proactive production updates to cross-functional partners.
• Manage the sample development process and adherence to departmental guidelines and timelines.
• Oversee quality control activities in the field, coordinating with sourcing agents.
• Manage the annual audit process for GOTS and GOLS certifications.
• Understand key sustainability initiatives and certifications, communicating their importance across the organization.
• Facilitate and lead regular meetings with vendors/agents to support sourcing and production milestones.
• Embrace Coyuchi's commitment to organic production and actively communicate relevant areas of interest or concern.
• Keep an organized workspace and maintain a sample library.

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in sustainable textile/apparel production or product development is required; experience in home textiles is preferred.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work independently.
• Proactive problem solver with a high level of initiative and energy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Suite; knowledge of Asana is a plus.
• Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high accuracy.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• A flexible team player, capable of engaging with vendors in Asia.
• A bachelor's degree in textile business, marketing, production, or design is a plus.
