Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Wentzville on a full-time basis. The Role: The Wentzville Manufacturing Engineering group is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer responsible for performing engineering work in a variety of projects and/or programs. As a Mechanical Engineer you will provide technical expertise for successful execution of projects. You will help troubleshoot equipment issues, develop new products, processes, standards, or operational plans in support of the organization's business strategies. You will also work closely to lead and support workers in all departments to achieve production and performance goals. This may include identifying problems, updating, or modifying working methods that may be complex. Promoting GM\'s values and making customer-focused improvement decisions is a must. What You\'ll Do (Responsibilities): Demonstrate and enforce safe work practices as the highest priority. Align with the terms of local and national labor agreements. Implement divisional and corporate policies. Acquire a deep knowledge and drive implementation of GMS principles. Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for equipment failures. Provide technical guidance for sophisticated and unusual plant operations or projects. Develop a proactive safety culture across the organization. Engage and support upcoming major projects including weekend work as needed. Evaluate processes and procedures for Continuous Improvement opportunities. Review and evaluate proposals for existing and new manufacturing processes including funding requests such as ARs, NPPs and MBCs. Develop long-range plans for improvements of processes and manufacturing activities. Frequent contact with others outside the work group and plant. Manage 3rd party contractors as required. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): College degree with major in Engineering or 1 year of Engineering experience. 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult. High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to track, develop, and interpret metrics. Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc.). Working knowledge of AutoCad, Siemens NX, or related drawing programs. Able to read and work from blueprints. Manage contractors through debug and release to production. Sound knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade. What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Automotive manufacturing experience. Experience with 3D printing. Experience with Microsoft Power BI. Experience with AI systems such as Microsoft Copilot. Knowledge of robots and conveyor systems. Experience in Throughput Improvement Process (TIP) & Practical Problem Solving (PPS). Experience with reliability and maintainability of processing equipment, standalone availability, and throughput. Experience with IBM Maximo maintenance software. Experience with predictive technology systems and equipment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
