We are seeking Board-Certified (BC) Cardiothoracic Surgeons to provide coverage at a 347-bed hospital that is part of the Cardiovascular Institute in Grove City, PA. This role can be fulfilled by one full-time provider or split between multiple locums surgeons.

- End Date: July 1, 2026 ( High potential for extension )
- Coverage Type: Call + Clinic/Rounding
- EMR System: EPIC
- Reason for Coverage: Provider Retirement
- Target Commitment: Full-time (1.0 FTE) or minimum 2 weeks per month per provider.
- Trauma Level: No Trauma Center
- Locums Shift Schedule (M-F): 8:00 AM 5:00 PM weekly
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend for call + rounding
- Call Rotation (Estimated 1:2): The call schedule rotates between two providers weekly:
- Provider A (Weekend Call): Takes call Friday Sunday, then Wednesday/Thursday call the following week.
- Provider B (Opposite): Takes call Monday/Tuesday of the first week, and Monday/Tuesday, Friday Sunday of the following week.
- Required Procedures: CABGs, Aortic/Mitral valve replacement/repairs, Ascending aortic root work, TAVRs, routine lung/lobectomy, mediastinoscopy.
- Experience: Required experience in CT Surgery. Robotic experience is preferred but not required.
- Daily Census:
- Inpatients: Average .
- Office Patients: Up to 17 .
- Rounding: Basic rounding takes approximately 4-5 hours each day (for 10-12 patients) with APP support.
- Annual Volume: 218 hearts in 2024; 147 through August 2025.
The CT Surgeon will have the support of:
- Multiple APPs (who assist as first assist, help with rounding, and cover outpatient visits).
- RNs + RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assist).
- MAs (Medical Assistants).
- 1 other CT Surgeon .
- Certification: Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery. ACLS/BLS (American Heart Association, in-person only ).
- License: Strongly prefer PA licensed candidates . Will consider IMLC candidates with Letter of Qualification in hand .
