Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach and Sports Scientist Join Gotham FC as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach and Sports Scientist and help our National Women’s Soccer League team set new standards of performance and innovation. Overview Gotham FC (NWSL) represents New Jersey and New York and plays at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ. We are a forward‑thinking club that uses bold creativity to challenge conventional soccer practices, redefine expectations, and build a legacy that has never existed before. Key Responsibilities Assist the Strength & Conditioning Coach in designing individualized player programs based on testing data, macro/micro cycle planning, in‑season periodization, and game density. Supervise team and individual strength & conditioning sessions, including equipment set‑up, breakdown, maintenance, and cleaning. Collaborate with the Director of Player Health & Performance and Sport Scientist to develop and execute a comprehensive testing battery that tracks changes in player strength, power, and fitness. Support the Strength & Conditioning / Pitch‑Based Return‑to‑Play Coach in player re‑conditioning and return‑to‑play programs. Assist the Sports Scientist with data collection, uploading/downloading, cleaning, and analysis of player monitoring devices. Maintain accurate records in the Athlete Management System, Strength & Conditioning Software, and all relevant databases per department protocols. Travel with the team to away games as designated by the Director of Player Health & Performance. Assist in designing and monitoring off‑season programming in partnership with the High‑Performance Medicine team. Stay current with the latest research in Strength & Conditioning and Sports Science and participate in continued education. Participate in club promotion, sponsorship, and public relations activities as requested by the Club. Qualifications Master’s degree or equivalent in Sport Science, Kinesiology, Physiology, or a related field. Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) accreditation or equivalent. Proficient soccer skillset with collegiate playing experience or higher desirable. Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. First Aid and CPR certification. Knowledge of performance requirements for adult and youth female athletes. Experience working with performance monitoring systems (e.g., GPS, force measurement products). Proficiency on computer with software such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI. Able and willing to travel for away games and work non‑traditional hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. Current and valid driver’s license. Location Fully in‑person, based at Gotham FC’s soccer operations office and practice facility in Whippany, New Jersey. The employee must attend all home games, away games, and any business‑related travel and live within reasonable commuting distance of the office, practice facility, and Sports Illustrated Stadium.
