As a Lead Integrated Cybersecurity Architect, you will champion our cybersecurity architectural principles, standards, and design patterns, guiding engineering teams in the development of secure products and enterprise tools for both multi-cloud and on-premises settings. This dynamic role integrates you with product and engineering teams, ensuring a seamless collaboration for secure architecture implementation.

You will leverage your extensive cybersecurity expertise to partner with various teams across the organization, proactively addressing unique cybersecurity risks tied to specific business units and products. This is an exciting opportunity to influence your peers and enhance our cybersecurity posture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate and promote cybersecurity guidelines to engineering and business teams, fostering their adoption.
  • Maintain close collaboration with engineering teams to advise on architectural decisions and the implementation of cybersecurity controls.
  • Identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks through effective threat modeling tailored to products and enterprise tools.
  • Provide consultation on cybersecurity architecture across significant programs and solutions.
  • Engage with cybersecurity colleagues to create unity within the cybersecurity function and relay relevant information to product and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and engineering teams to assess existing architecture, pinpoint gaps, and recommend security enhancements.
  • Participate in security events and incident responses, uncovering design gaps and proposing preventive measures.
  • Educate product and enterprise architects about cybersecurity best practices and standards.
  • Work alongside legal and compliance teams to ensure that cybersecurity architecture meets regulatory and contractual obligations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years dedicated to cybersecurity.
  • Proven experience in designing, securing, or operating AWS infrastructure and services.
  • Ability to articulate the objectives of cybersecurity policies and procedures to diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent skills in customer service, writing, and presenting to executives.
  • Ability to cultivate cooperative relationships with key stakeholders and work closely with cybersecurity teams across Cox entities.
  • Consultative approach for addressing complex issues with employees and leadership.
  • Expertise in evaluating risks and recommending actionable measures based on business impact.
  • Comprehensive understanding of contemporary cybersecurity architectures, including zero trust, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and DevSecOps.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to cybersecurity challenges.
  • Experience using Agile methodologies.
  • Track record of initiating change and implementing solutions in Fortune 1000 companies.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and regulations guiding architectural requirements.
  • Experience in collaborating with AI agents to enhance architectural artifacts.
  • Ability to lead teams in creating AI-enhanced solutions and establishing standards for AI integration.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven architectural governance and compliance.
  • Proficiency in utilizing AI for vendor tool assessments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing cybersecurity standard methodologies for both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Knowledge of IAM, cryptography, secrets management, and security protocols.
  • Background in application security implementations.
  • Strong technology knowledge in programming languages and frameworks.
  • Experience with edge services and network architectures.
  • Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Experience in strategizing and implementing cloud enterprise solutions across various platforms.
  • Understanding of cloud containers or serverless platforms.
  • Experience in critical infrastructure industries.
  • Big four consulting or Fortune 500 company experience preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications are a plus.

The position is based in the United States and reports to the Director of Integrated Cybersecurity Architecture at Cox Automotive. Compensation ranges from $119,600.00 to $199,400.00 per year, with eligibility for additional compensation.
