Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Ellwood National Crankshaft in Irvine, PA. The role involves mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance for the production of large crankshafts used in locomotive, marine, oil and gas, and stationary power applications. The organization emphasizes a Continuous Improvement mindset to maintain leadership in crankshaft manufacturing. Responsibilities Design and develop manufacturing processes from customer drawings and specifications. Use CAD software to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings. Understand the crankshaft manufacturing process from forging through final shipment. Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure quality standards and production schedules. Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues. Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure crankshafts meet industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and customer specifications. Perform inspections and testing of products using measuring tools and equipment. Analyze data and prepare reports on product performance and quality metrics. Conduct engineering drawing reviews to meet manufacturing and quality standards. Collaborate across departments (Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Safety) and communicate technical information to stakeholders at all levels. Participate in project planning, including scope definition, resource allocation, and timeline management; monitor progress and report milestones and deliverables. Work with internal and external teams to complete projects in a timely and effective manner. Demonstrate safe work practices around heavy machinery and participate in efforts to maintain OSHA Star VPP status. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX). Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and machining techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team or independently. Strong communication and project management skills. Experience in heavy metal manufacturing is preferred. Additional Information EOE, including disability/vets.
