This is an 8 hour per day, 260 day per year, Custodian I (4 hours) and a Custodian IV (4 hours) position with benefits at Mariner High School - Goddard Stadium. The anticipated start date is as soon as possible.

Hours for this position are 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

The successful candidate must meet qualifications for the Custodian I and Custodian IV positions

Rate of pay does not include the swing shift stipend.

Custodian I: $33.86-$42.26/hour Custodian IV: $37.19-$46.54/hour

JOB SUMMARY:

The Custodian is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks, minor repair, security, and general labor tasks to create and maintain a safe, clean and orderly environment for students, staff, parents and the general public.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform general cleaning to meet minimum health standards and codes, including: clean/sanitize toilets, shower rooms and other restroom fixtures; stock all dispensers; empty waste baskets and trash containers; clean chalk boards, white boards; dust and clean furniture, walls, baseboards, and wall/ceiling fixtures; sweep, mop, strip and refinish floors; vacuum, shampoo, and spot clean carpets; wash windows and mirrors. Make facilities available for use which includes: set up and remove furniture/equipment for events and/or for any other needs in building usage; greet, assist and respond to needs of facility users; maintain building security when facilities are not in use by checking for unlocked doors and unauthorized occupants. Maintain exterior areas of school to include: remove debris, snow and ice from walks, driveways, and other concrete/asphalt areas as needed; pick up and dispose of litter on campus grounds; help maintain campus grounds. Perform general maintenance care for facility, which may include: replace light bulbs and ballasts; resupply of inventory; minor repairs and preventative maintenance to equipment/facilities and care of equipment; installation of fixtures and accessories; load, unload, transport equipment and material as needed; respond to emergencies and trouble calls. JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:

Ability to operate and maintain a variety of equipment to include but not limited to: broom, mop, squeegee, hand power tools, auto scrubber, buffer, pressure washer, vacuum, carpet extractor, gas/electric blower, etc. Ability to read, write, perform basic math problems; ability to read, interpret and follow written and verbal instructions including service orders, emails, labels on chemicals and supplies, etc. Physical ability to perform manual work associated with custodial duties including lifting 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds to empty garbage, lifting and moving furniture, equipment, etc. Ability to operate basic computer systems including Microsoft programs, Kronos, Sonitrol, etc. to meet perform general tasks and meet daily administrative needs. Skill and ability to effectively communicate. Ability to develop positive relationships with others. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and to be flexible in meeting deadlines. Education and Experience:

JOB TITLE: Activities Custodian - Mariner High School

REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Custodial Services; Receives lead direction from Principal and Assistant Principals

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform a variety of activities for athletic and theatre events. Maintain a safe and pleasant physical environment to present a positive image on behalf of the District for students, staff, parents and the general public using facilities. Perform a variety of cleaning tasks, minor repair, security, and general labor tasks to create and maintain a safe, clean and orderly environment for students, staff, parents and the general public.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Prepare indoor and outdoor athletic facilities for events, to include, but not limited to: set-up of all pertinent equipment needed for events such as bleachers, scoreboard, public address system, etc.; maintain athletic facility security when facilities are in use and when not in use by checking for unlocked doors, gates, and unauthorized occupants. Respond to athletic and theatre facility needs of staff, students, parents and general public, including emergencies. Perform general cleaning and to meet minimum health standards and codes, including: clean/sanitize toilets, shower rooms and other restroom fixtures; stock all dispensers; restock inventory; empty wastebaskets and trash containers. Perform general maintenance care of athletic and theatre facilities, which may include: replace light bulbs and ballasts; minor repairs and preventative maintenance to equipment/athletic facilities and care of equipment; installation of fixtures and accessories; lining and striping athletic fields as needed; load, unload, transport equipment and material as needed. Maintain exterior areas of school athletic facilities by removing debris, snow, and ice from walks, driveways, and other concrete/asphalt areas as needed; pick up and dispose of litter on athletic campus grounds; help maintain athletic campus grounds. Read and interpret written instructions, service orders, and labels on chemicals and supplies. Communicate and cooperate with day/night custodians and maintenance/grounds staff to meet athletic facility needs. Make facilities available for use which includes: set up and remove furniture/equipment for events and/or for any other needs in building usage; greet, assist and respond to needs of facility users; maintain building security when facilities are not in use by checking for unlocked doors and unauthorized occupants. Operate and maintain a variety of equipment used for the upkeep of athletic facilities, theatre, and school-wide facilities including the grounds. JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read, write, perform basic math problems; ability to read, interpret and follow written and verbal instructions including service orders, emails, labels on chemicals and supplies, etc. Physical ability to perform manual work associated with custodial duties including lifting 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds to empty garbage, lifting and moving furniture, equipment, etc. Ability to operate basic computer systems including Microsoft programs, Kronos, Sonitrol, etc. to meet and perform general tasks and meet daily administrative needs. Skill and ability to effectively communicate. Ability to develop positive relationships with others. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and to be flexible in meeting deadlines. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Any combination equivalent to completion of high school. Two (2) years experience or training in custodial and athletic facility activities. Valid Washington Driver's License with acceptable driving record. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Previous experience with custodial and/or maintenance of a school athletic facility preferred.
