Job Summary:
Provide restorative nursing care under the supervision of a licensed nurse and coordinate care with other facility and rehabilitation personnel.
Job Responsibilities: Preparing resident for restorative services as therapeutically warranted by PT, OT, or ST, and administering routine treatments when qualified to do so. Assist residents in improving skills in grooming, self-feeding, dressing, ambulation, bowel and bladder training, etc Assisting residents in putting on and removing assistive and supportive devices such as braces, splints, slings, etc., prior to and after treatment. Administering routine exercise and activity treatments such as gait training, bicycle exercise, and range of motion. Assisting in transporting resident to and from therapy room/area and transferring residents between treatment equipment using proper transfer techniques appropriate to the resident's condition. Being alert to resident's response to procedure/program and reporting any signed of pain, fatigue, and/or other problems. Maintaining a treatment record and documentation of progress on each resident receiving restorative service. Safeguarding, motivating, and assisting residents practicing exercise in functional activities.
Job Qualifications & Skills:
Current Nurse Aide certification in good standing in the state in which the facility is located. Certificate of attendance at an approved Restorative Aide course. Experience working with the elderly and physically handicapped Preferred experience in medical/therapeutic fields Ability to communicate effectively Basic computer skills Demonstrates patience and empathy
