Summary & Purpose
The primary purpose of the Restorative Aide is to assist with the restorative nursing program and/or carrying through with rehabilitation programs specifically designed by a therapist.

Required Qualifications
* Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education. * Must be licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Indiana. * Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Will be an active part of the nursing team with guidance and input from the rest of the rehabilitation team including physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. * Practice safety techniques in resident care and appropriate body mechanics. * Will follow restorative programs set by the therapist and/or nurse and confer with them about resident changes/improvements and discharges on a regular basis. * Assist residents with restorative nursing ADL functions to improve functioning to highest practicable level. * Obtain weekly and monthly weights as ordered by Physician. * Obtain height of newly admitted residents to ensure appropriate documentation for MDS assessment. * Report all accidents and incidents that you observe on the shift as they occur. * Assist residents who are unable to feed themselves by assisting them with eating. * Obtain information and pricing for items needed related to adaptive equipment for residents. * Assist with transferring residents ensuring that all residents in need of mechanical lift devices are assisted by two team members. * Meet with nursing personnel, on a regular basis, to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services. * Report all complaints and grievances immediately made by the resident. * Assist in development of restorative, rehabilitative and range of motion procedures as instructed. * Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc. * Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes to maintain current certifications as a Nursing Assistant. * Review resident's care plan frequently.
