Minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalency.
Must pass BCI and FBI fingerprint checks
Educational Aide Permit required
MINIMUM SKILLS/JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Must meet No Child Left Behind standards (i.e., Associate Degree from an accredited institution of higher education or completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (defined as 48 semester or 72 quarter hours as verified by college transcript from an accredited institution of higher education), or meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment - knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics or knowledge of, and the ability to assist in readiness for reading, writing, and mathematics. * Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written. * Ability to cope with stressful situations as related to special needs children. * Physically capable to safely and appropriately lift and manage special needs children when necessary.
