Villa at Traverse Point is seeking a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join their team! The Personal Care Assistant helps patients/residents with comprehensive and personalized health care needs under the supervision of a nurse in Ohio Assisted Living Facilities.

Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides physical support for patients’/residents’ daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring to/from bed, toileting, walking, standing, or exercising.

Ensures proper resident/patient diet based on their dietary restrictions.

Notes and communicates patient/resident behavior and changes in mood.

Cleans rooms and bed linens.

Answers to patient calls and needs.

Transfers residents to and from activities.

All other duties as assigned.

Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Qualifications and Skills:

Good collaboration and teamwork skills with the nursing staff.

Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions.

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.

Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED, preferred.

One year or more of experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment preferred.

CPR certified or the ability to become certified within 3 months, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.

Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.

Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
