Forklift Operator

Essential Functions:

The person in this position is expected to: Ethically work with colleagues and team members and promote an environment of safety, quality, efficiency and operational excellence. Work safely and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Perform all tasks instructed by supervisor in a safe and efficient manner. Maintain a clean and safe work area (interior and exterior of truck). Adhere to company Good Manufacturing Policy (GMP) and other company policies. Safely work around and with the machine according to posted Safety requirements including but not limited to Lock Out Tag Out, Personal Protective Equipment, and other machine specific safety requirements. Lift/carry raw materials, production supplies, and final product up to 50 lbs. Perform forklift inspection at the beginning and end of each shift Keep warehouse and equipment clean at ALL times. Load and unload raw materials into machine centers. Unload finished goods from strap-line and scan to a bin location in the warehouse or load onto a truck. Conduct cycle counts when able. Maintain inventory control: scan and enter accurate information in the system and maintain accurate inventory locations. Print pick tickets and delivery receipts. Ensure raw materials and finished goods are scanned to their correct locations. Tag orders with appropriate and required documentation and scan to their proper locations. After primary job duties are completed, help other team members in the warehouse with their jobs to meet department and company goals. Qualifications

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

Regularly move and traverse throughout the plant location, ascend and descend steps and stairs, regularly maintain a seated position in a forklift chair and occasionally maintain a standing stationary position at a machine. Forklift Certified Regularly use hands and fingers to grasp, inspect, place, position and manipulate barcode scanners, product, labels/tags etc. Regularly use arms, hands, legs and feet to manipulate the controls to safely operate the forklift and drive the forklift vehicle. Regularly move and lift product weighing up to 50 pounds from one location to another. Regularly use body and arms to reach, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and twist torso from right to left. Regularly communicate, converse, make oneself understood with and receive work instructions from colleagues and supervisors about matters relating to work safety, production quality, and work instructions. Regularly use close vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus and depth perception to detect and perceive safety issues, detect quality issues with the raw materials and/or the finished product. Regularly read and assimilate information on a computer screen and printed documents. Use/wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protection, and work boots. Loose fitting clothes are not permitted.
