Job Summary
The assignment is expected to last approximately 3 months and will follow a hybrid schedule, with 3 days on-site and 2 days remote each week.
The Admissions Coordinator applies skills as a recruitment and admissions professional to support the UCSF School of Pharmacy's Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program. This position provides substantive information to prospective students, evaluates and reviews applications, and assists in all aspects of the admissions process. The coordinator plays an essential role in maintaining admissions operations, database systems, and communication with applicants, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, evaluate, and recommend applicants for admission using established guidelines. Assess prerequisite coursework and update articulation agreements with colleges and universities. Coordinate virtual interviews and final review processes via Zoom. Collaborate with the Admissions Committee on PharmD admissions decisions. Manage UCSF's interface with the national pharmacy application service (PharmCAS). Operate and maintain admissions databases and software systems. Track and monitor applicant credentials and completion requirements. Serve as a liaison to key campus offices, outside agencies, and community organizations. Provide professional and courteous communication with students, parents, and university partners. Support special projects within the Office of Student Affairs as needed. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Strong ability to maintain cooperative and professional relationships with schools, universities, and community organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of University of California admissions policies and procedures. Familiarity with academic programs, curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid within the UC system. Experience using online admissions systems and databases.
