Position
An Administrative Assistant is available with the City of Fort Worth, in the Public Events Department. This department operates two large public event facilities: the Fort Worth Convention Center (FWCC) in downtown Fort Worth, and the Will Rogers Memorial Center (WRMC) in the Cultural District. The department also operates the Office of Outdoor Events, which oversees the Fort Worth Sports Authority and funds Visit Fort Worth through a contractual agreement. The Administrative Assistant will report to the Assistant Public Facilities/Events Director and is a critical part of the HR/Finance team. The position supports the Administrative Division with financial duties, deposits, and expense tracking. The office is planned for Will Rogers Memorial Center campus but can also work from FWCC and City Hall. Collaboration across the department is necessary in the Fiscal and Administrative Division. This is a customer-focused position that is also detail-oriented and supports internal customers. It requires the ability to work at a fast pace yet maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
Incentives
This position qualifies for a sign-on incentive separate from base pay:
- $2,000 Sign-On Incentive: 50% paid after the first pay period, 50% paid after 6 months of employment. Location: Will Rogers Memorial Center only.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major coursework in Business Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field
- Four (4) years of clerical and administrative experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of City of Fort Worth financial processes
- PeopleSoft Human Capital and Financial
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word and Excel
- Cash handling experience
Job Responsibilities
- Review and process client deposits and enter Inovah
- Record payments in Momentus (Ungerboeck)
- Perform Accounts Receivable functions and prepare bank reconciliations
- Process receipt invoices
- Create Venue Tax uploads and track Venue Tax revenue
- Learn Perceptive functions for invoicing
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Positions may require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, with occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. Specific duties depend on assignment.
