Overview
The Data Operations Analyst supports the Service Asset Configuration Management (SACM) Operations team, which is responsible for ensuring the assets (hardware/software) required to deliver services are properly controlled and that accurate and reliable information about those assets is available when and where it is needed. The SACM Operations team provides reporting and operational capability for managing the inventory within the CMDB, including management of the Remedy internal product catalog.
Responsibilities
- Manage workorder queue for asset management activities within the CMDB.
- Perform analytical analysis and assessments of data integration sources into the Master Data Warehouse.
- Perform and communicate data consistency and accuracy assessments across key IT infrastructure SORs.
- Drive future data standardization and quality measurements based on analysis outcomes.
- Work across development teams to contribute to the story refinement and delivery of data requirements through the delivery life cycle.
- Leverage architecture components in solution development, code solutions to integrate, clean, transform, and control data in operational and analytical data systems per acceptance criteria.
- Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, data quality controls, dependency, and workload management; define and build data pipelines and complex data sets to enable data-informed decision making, identifying and raising risks at all stages of the data engineering process.
- Develop and execute test plans to produce quantitative results; contribute to existing test suites including integration, regression, and performance; analyze test reports, identify test issues and errors, and triage underlying causes.
- Drive complex information technology projects to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to team delivery and release processes.
- Identify, define, and document data engineering requirements, communicating required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality.
- Work with technology partners and a diverse set of stakeholders to identify and close gaps in data management standards adherence, negotiate paths forward, and help identify and communicate solutions to complex data problems leveraging knowledge of information systems, techniques, and processes.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in data analysis or data integration.
- SQL skills against industry standard DBMS (Cloudera, IBM, Trino, Oracle, SQL Server).
- Experience with problem management and root cause analysis.
- Experience with data quality issues and development of metrics to support improvement of data quality.
- Basic technology knowledge with regards to terminology and database methodology.
- Strong interpersonal and business skills to achieve cooperation/coordination of multiple tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively to multiple levels in the technology organization.
- Ability to effectively deal with multiple deadline-driven, customer-sensitive projects and tasks.
- Strong time management and task prioritization skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work with senior management both on the technology as well as business.
- Ability to assess and suggest changes to the Master Model over time.
- Ability to provide input to reporting and integration requirements.
