Job Description

The Merchandiser - Large Store Trainee duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, building displays and replenishing inventory on the customer’s shelves, racks, and cold equipment.

What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Ensure proper care of equipment and Company/customer assets daily
  • Rotate and replenish products in customer outlets, including displays, racks, and all Coca-Cola and brand partner equipment
  • Maintain product integrity in every account; neatly stacked, condensed, and rotated backstock; clean coolers and racks to Company standards
  • Organize and collect any breakage or out-of-date product, including empty shells and pallets
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to leadership on competitive threats and business opportunities as they arise
  • Work in partnership with the Sales Supervisor and Delivery Driver for outlet to execute the picture of success
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with all customers, providing superior customer service
  • Ability to work with all functional team members

What You Need To Succeed

  • Minimum age of 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
  • Reliable vehicle required
  • PPE as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • High school diploma or GED; or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work a flexible or rotating schedule
  • Ability to respond and resolve to any customer issues
  • Ability to self-motivate and perform job duties with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
  • Previous Merchandising experience preferred

Physical Requirements

Position requires compliance with CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program. Must wear safety-toed shoes when performing tasks such as operating Powered Industrial Equipment or working where such equipment is in use, fleet maintenance, handling palletized product, using hand trucks/dollies, cooler services, etc. Frequency and exposure notes may apply as outlined by internal guidelines.
