$75.00/hr - $85.00/hr

Job Description

The Hardware System Test Engineer will support the specification, development, test, and operation of the hardware test for various satellite avionics and hardware. This work will include cross-functional coordination to determine test requirements and capabilities. You will ensure HW testing supports both development work and end-product validation.

Seeking experience with mixed signal PCB test and design. Python to write scripts and control lab tools and program test flow.

Responsibilities

  • Support the specification, development, test, and operation of hardware test for satellite avionics and hardware.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to determine test requirements and capabilities.
  • Ensure hardware testing supports development work and end-product validation.
  • Collaborate on mixed signal PCB test and design tasks.
  • Develop and execute test flows using Python to script and control lab tools.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of work experience in Aerospace, Automotive, Robotics, Power Electronics, Consumer Electronics, and/or Communications with hands-on testing and debugging of programmable electronics hardware using electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, etc.)
  • Experience creating detailed hardware test plans and procedures, driving products through verification and early manufacturing runs
  • Experience with engineering documentation (electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, requirements documentation, interface control, version control)
  • Experience with development of hardware-in-the-loop testing for high-volume applications
  • Familiarity with design for FPGA or ASIC circuitry (preferred)
  • Familiarity with board bring up and validation of complex designs
  • Troubleshooting expedience for PCBA with Analog, Digital, and Mixed signal circuitry
  • Knowledge of hardware and software tools for test automation (e.g. Python, C/C++, Linux)
  • Experience with rapid iteration prototypes and joint hardware/firmware development; partnering with software/hardware engineers to bring-up and test new hardware designs
  • Familiarity with several communications protocols (e.g. SPI, I2C, Ethernet, CAN-FD, RS-232/422/485, GPIB)
